Travelodge and Marstons Team up in Cornwall

2nd August 2011
Travelodge and pub company Marstons have agreed to collocate on a mixed-use project in Newquay, Cornwall. Travelodge is planning to open a 66-bedroom hotel on a 25-year lease, subject to planning consent, towards the end of 2012. Marstons will open a pub restaurant at Bilsdale Properties’ Newquay Business Park. Crantock Development will develop the hotel. The scheme will be the seventh deal that Marstons and Travelodge have agreed. Tony O’Brian, UK development director for Travelodge, said: “When we are looking to open smaller hotels, locating with pub companies works really well for us.” Monk and Partners advises Bilsdale; Travelodge/ Marstons was unrepresented.
